Dr. Reddy’s has launched a new generic tablet called Ramelteon, 8 mg in the US market after approval by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). It is a generic drug which is therapeutically equivalent to the Takeda Pharmaceutical Company’s Rozerem tablets of the same strength, Dr. Reddy’s said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange(BSE). Ramelteon is used to treat insomnia or the inability to sleep. Considering that 25% of Americans suffer from acute insomnia each year, this drug will certainly have a good market to receive it. It was announced that the tablets will be available in bottle count sizes of 30, 100 and 1,000. Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories is a pharmaceutical multinational company based in Hyderabad, India. They manufacture and distribute a wide range of pharmaceutical products in India and overseas
